Technuf is seeking a skilled and experienced Government Sales Executive.
Job Description
A government sales representative's job description includes selling products and services to federal, state, and local government agencies, which requires building relationships with government officials, preparing and submitting bids, and understanding government procurement processes and regulations. Key duties involve identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales cycle from lead generation to closing, negotiating contracts, and providing customer support.
Responsibilities
- Sales strategy and execution: Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets and sales quotas.
- Lead generation and opportunity identification: Leverage strong existing relationships to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Client relationship management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and stakeholders within government agencies
- Proposal and bid management: Working with proposal team to respond to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and bids to “land the deal”.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and contracts tailored to the specific needs of government clients
- Product knowledge and consultation: Maintain a deep understanding of Technuf's products and services and how they meet government client/prospect needs and regulations, and assist clients in selecting appropriate solutions.
- Negotiation and closing: Negotiate prices, terms, and agreements and close sales to achieve company goals and secure approval from VP of Sales.
- Market and competitor analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, government regulations, and competitor activities.
- Internal collaboration: Work with internal teams like service delivery and products to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Customer support: Provide post-sale support (in partnership with Account Management) and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Business and/or Computer Science and/or Engineering.
- Proven experience in sales, often with a focus on government or technical sales. Must have a very strong track record in government selling.
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes, including bidding and contracting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and government compliance is often required.
Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
